Clean the condensing unit at the back, and you've to clean it out more often to keep the unit running in good condition . Try this cleaning first. hope this can help.

Freezer runs but won't keep most foods frozen even on coldest setting

Check condenser clean and fan working. Check it's not frozen solid because you've been running it full pelt; if it is, fully defrost it then set it at a mid range setting.

Freezer not freezing properly. Keeps things frozen but new things put in do not freeze as they should.

Is the internal fan running? you should hear it after you close the door, or push the light switch on the door.

Would a bad thermostat cause my danby to not completely freeze?

Should operate 24 hours before putting anything in that is not already frozen. Check it again after it has run for 24 hours. Anytime you adjust the thermostat go one click at a time and wait 24 hours for it to stabilize.

Freezer not keeping things frozen

Hi Jody,
The only thing you give me that would allow me to solve this issue, is based on the fact that the freezer is getting warmer, and fresh food section is staying cold. So, knowing nothing more than that, I must sadly say that you need a new refrigerator to solve this issue 100%, as it sounds like you have a failing compressor, or a slow leak in the sealed system. Both scenarios are terminal.
