Hi! I stored files, docs, and pics, on my Verbatim Ext. Hard Drive USB 2.0 awhile back. I now want to update it. When I go to "shortcut to Verbatim" I get a Nero BackItUP Archive File page. When I click on one of the files, I get an error report; "Runtime Error" - "the application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way". It tells me to contact support team. Can you help me understand the proper way to see my saved files and/or update my files? Thank you.

You might have a computer-virus on your computer that is interfering with Windows.
Or, it might be some "non-virus" software (toolbar or anti-virus software) that is misbehaving.

So, connect the external drive to a different computer, to see if that computer can access the files. You might have a computer-virus on your computer that is interfering with Windows.
