Some computers will not support a large 8GB stick. The best some will do is 2GB, If you are running a computer pre-2001, you may not be able to use the 8GB stick (I have the same problem with my desktop PC). It just is not supported!
panacam is a loon, who runs anything pre-2001? the answer is simple, some company in RoC flooded the market with these defective usb drives labelled "Lexar" and they did through bulk retailers like walmart. the part number on these things cannot be found not even the fcc code
Possible problem is 1) the LOCK is activated. This is the small slide on the left of the card. 2) your computer may NOT read the card if it cannot see the new, 8GB SDHC card. These cards have just come out in the last year and not all computers are compatible with this type of card.
