I can't get the subwoofer off of standby mode. It's Onkyo HT_S5100. I have tried to alter the sensitivity level as described in the manual and it hasn't helped.

I have the same problem. I saw on another forum that you can plug the sub cable into the "tape out" and it works. It did work for me but now the volume control doesn't control the sub along with the other 5 speakers. Not sure what else to do...

How do I hook my onkyo SKW-791powered subwoofer to my onkyo av receiver HT-R758

You need a RCA sub-woofer cable (analog mono) to connect between the receiver's sub-woofer Pre Out and the sub-woofer. This cable has a single RCA plug at each end of the cable. The cable is somewhat thicker than some audio RCA cables. You can use any RCA cable temporarily.

The manual for the HT-R758 is available from Onkyo here: https://onkyousa.com/ht-r758 . The current link to the manual is https://assets.onkyo-av.com/product-manuals/HT-S6500_English_2022-11-02-204020_ivkn.pdf?v=1667421620 . See page EN-13 (page 13 of the PDF) for connecting to the subwoofer. The original package came with a 10' RCA sub-woofer cable, see page EN-1 (page 81 of the PDF) for the speaker list.

I hope this helps.

CAN AN IPHONE 6 PLAY THROUGH MY ONKYO HT-S5100 AUDIO SYSTEM THAT HAS A DEDICATED IPOD DOCK

The included i-Pod dock is the DS-A1 and it is not compatible with any iPhone. It's compatible with the third (select versions) through fifth generation iPods. It can also work with the IPod nano (first and second generation), iPod mini and iPod Photo. On the Crutchfield product page, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GQfUerwopyn/p_580DSA1/Onkyo-DS-A1.html, look at the Details tab for a complete list of compatible devices.

You can find this list also in the HT-S5100 manual (page 65) and the DS-A1 manual (page 6). The direct links to both of these manuals are http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/own_manuals/HT-S5100_En_A.pdf and http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/own_manuals/DSA1.pdf .

ONKYO TX-SR307. Problem with volume/sound getting lower. "Setup" does not alter / resolve the issue. Please help

Hi, if this has not been resolved please try the following reset:

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings, Thanks, JT

I have an Onkyo HT-R8230 receiver and I can not get any sound out of the center channel or the subwoofer. The sub will not even power on. It stays in the standby mode and there is no manual on/off button...

The manual is available at retrevo.com.

If you don't have the center and sub defined in the Onkyo they will never work. See page 20.

If that is all set and you still have problems...

To prove the center speaker works, connect it to one of the front channels.

To prove the sub works, connect it via RCA cable(s) to the Tape Out and play something containing deep bass. You should see it come out of standby and hear something, albeit only the deep bass.

I have the Onkyo HT-S5100, the 5 speaker are set

also, you might have to search through the menu of the receiver, and set the surround back speakers to be zone 2 instead of using the 7.1 configuration that is probably default.

i think zone 2 will only play sources that are hooked up with analog connects, ie. red/white cables. try using the radio to see if it works. you might have to hook up your cable/sat box, cd player, dvd player, whatever you have that you want to listen to with both digital and analog cables to get everything to work right.
