Subzero Model 550, freezer not working properly

The freezer of our subzero 550 is only cooling to about 30 degrees F. We think this model is about 20 yrs old, but until recently, it worked pretty well.

After vacuuming out the condenser area, it seems to be working fine. It had been neglected and was pretty dusty. Thanks.

Blow out the condenser with an air compressor. Make sure the evaporator coil is not frosted up, if so, the drawer may naot have been closed properly, or you may have a defrost problem, (timer, terminator, etc). Possible freon leak in the high side drain loop. Compressor may not be pumping efficiently, could have a bad condenser fan motor.

It must be common as Wolf / Subzero have a page on it. There are some ideas including Sabbath Mode, but you probably need a call for service.

Water is not draining down the drain tube in the main compartment of the subzero 550 refrigerator

clean drain line . force hot water down the drain as the get algi and stuff in them . if problem happens again then use a drain heater kit ( subzero ahd one for this model ) this will prevent ice over .. **** hope this will help ..

My Subzero Condenser fan runs constantly - but coils are clean

If it is similar to mine at home (Model 550) the condensor fan is designed to run continuously, even when both the freezer and refrigerator are shut off. There is no control or switch in the fan circuit, so it just runs whenever the fridge is plugged in to the wall. It uses about 56 watts.

Did u check condenser on the top behind the grill? If it's clean, check unit for evaporator freon leaking. Light....Possibly bad bulbs behind that plastic light cover or light switch - one of them located on upper portion of door frame.

Sub Zero model 211 RFD new 1981. Freezer on bottom of unit leaks water, appears to come from inside door panel. Leak comes on the bottom of door on the opening side. Temperature can run around 20 degrees.

Subzero 611 Refrigerator not cooling, freezer fine

It sounds like a defective ref section evaporator. This is common, due to poor quality metal used in fabrication. If you call subzero, they will more than likely fix it as they are aware of this issue. It probably wont cost you anything if you get them involved.

1. check the comp. working touch the top of the comp. 2.if the motor comp. working touch the high side tube of the motor comp. if to hot the freon is ok. 3. check the cooling fan inside.
