You should only clean heads using liquid cleaner , never dry tape if video works ok afterwards but still no internal sound could be circuit breakdown

You may had it converted. Maybe after the conversion, all will be okay!

After inserting a hi8 tape into the ccdtry50e sony camcorder it stops playing and beeps to eject the tape. why

The error message indicates that the Camcorder has detected an issue that may require a power reset.

Step 1:

Try to reset the Camcorder and check if it helps to resolve the issue. Locate the RESET button behind the LCD screen of the Camcorder.

Step 2:

Turn off the Camcorder. Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds. Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.

no that u must remove ur camera and try to clean all strip that connect with board and mechanisum and all connectors legs solder then it will work .any doubt call u.a.e no 00971503853766

I had that problem also and I found that using smaller tapes helped. I was using the 120 minute tapes, I think they may be too heavy.

It is known problem of bad ccd imager in camcorder and requires replacement of that part.
Sony will repair CCD-TRV318 Free of Cost in ccd imager problem.
