You could try this:

Press the eject button on the player. You will notice that the tray is making an attempt to move. Use two fine screwdrivers, and insert them into the space at the sides of the tray, one on each side, and gently try to pull the tray out..

If that doesn't work, then you may have to open up the cover and try a manual extract..

Hope that helps..please post back and let me know how it goes..

HI,

Well you can fix this by yourself but you'll have to unscrew the device.
The cause is that the lubrication of the plastic lifting components has dried out and the clamping mechanism is not moving freely enough. This results in a situation with other moving parts of the carousel causing a jam. By gently relocating the jammed trays and ensuring free movement of the clamping mechanism the problem can be solved.

NOTE: The lubrication appears to be a specialist one used particularly for plastics.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

Ooops...you may need to do a manual extraction on that...there may be a reset manual mode on that one..let me check the user guide..but it may require removing the case, and delicately releasing that mechanism from inside..

A disk is stuck in my Harmon Kardon player. The door will open and close and I can see the disk but cant' get it out.

turn on the unit and then tried to press the play button while the cd tray is in place. if doesn't work, unplug the dvd player then open the cover to access the internal part. look for a broken limit switch for cd tray mechanical assembly or check weather the cd not in proper place in the tray that is why an error occur.

DVD trays out - Panasonic SA-PM39D

there are very tricky mechanical devices that detect when the trays are closed and in what position they are in
A gear or mechanical piece is not in correct order or not functioning properly and will need intense studying to determine which position they all should be in at door closed , laser mech. position , standby position
can you upload a photo of the inside of the cd mechanism?

Cannot eject a disk and message on screen reads, mech err

Hi Carole,
This is an indication of mechanical malfunction. Most of this symptoms is due to dirt build up inside which caused the mechanical to stuck. The unit must take apart to clean the tray and make an air blow. Another reasons of symptoms is the faulty mechanical tray motor. Once this part is faulty the tray will not eject and will sense by the processor and trigger the error code.
If you can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to isolate the problem.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

CD-R drawer won't open. CD is in drawer.

there are different reasons for stuck up disk tray

1. load belt is worn out already
2. driving gear for mechanical loading disc tray has broken teeth.
3. cd got stuck up between the loading disc tray and the plate holder.

You will need unplug your device first and then unscrew the cover of your unit and find it yourself to know what causes it not to open.

once the cover is out, the mechanical loading disc tray will be exposed.
1. remove the stuck cd
2. plug the unit and turn on, to get access the belt, wait for the disc tray to move to the pull out position, then unplug your device.
3. plug the unit and turn on, if the disc tray do not move, use your finger to move the tray and see which gear is broken.

belts are available from this site. just have to measure the correct diameter of the belt in your unit

I am getting the locked display

Hi Blackhawk,
This sounds like you've accidentally set the "tray lock" feature.
You can set this to stop unwanted tray ejections:

I hope this solves your problem..

CD is stuck in my bose lifestyle system, the message displays as "opening" but does not open

Not familiar with this model but all cd tray's have a manual release mechanism, its usually a small hole on the front of the tray. I've found a paper clip unwound usually works fine. Push it in the small hole, you will feel it stop against something, push a little harder and the tray should open enough for you to manually pull it open.
