My Acer Monitor H233H has internal speakers. The sound used to work now it doesn't. Could it be something that has been accidentally turned off or disconnected? How do I get the sound back on, This just happened in the past week and the monitor is less than a year old. [email protected]

Assuming windows PC.. First, check the wire connectors are solid. Turn everything off and remove then replace all connections. Look for the speaker icon in your task bar. Bottom right of screen. Might be in the hidden icons box, right click on the speaker and choose settings from the popup menu. Wording may be different on diff versions, check to see the right set of speakers are selected. Sometimes plugging in ear phones, for example will change settings, and unplugging defaults to something else.

Have you checked through the setup controls on the flat panel. I've seen a few that had the audio turned off by default. That is sometimes done because it generates static noice if there is no audio sourced coming through them.

SOURCE: Speaker in the Monitor?

It looks like there are no speakers according to:
http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/monitor/0000/Acer/X193/X193sp2.shtml

You should be able to use any external speakers to your system. The question is looks and power. You will likely have to buy speakers that have power in order to get enough volume.

Most speakers that come with monitors are of very, very low quality. You now have the option of buying good speakers (if you want to pay for them). If you are in a hurry you can likely pick up cheap speakers at the drugstore or Walmart. Another option is headphones.

Good luck finding the right sound.

Where is/are the mic(s) on an Acer H233H display?

The Acer H233H does not have a microphone built into the monitor. Thus you do not have to put tape over the microphone. It does have integrated down-ward firing speakers; the speaker jack is next to the power cord on the back of the monitor. Make sure to connect the included audio cord to the Lime Green audio (speaker) out jack on your computer. All of the jacks on the monitor point down.

If this monitor had a microphone and the blue 3.5 mm audio port, you could keep the microphone disabled simply by not connecting the cable between the monitor and the computer's microphone port.

Acer has the documentation for the H233H monitor in their support section. The direct link to the manual is http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Document/User%20Manual/User%20Manual_Acer_1.0_A_A.zip?acerid=633765057605336286&Step1=MONITOR&Step2=H%20SERIES&Step3=H233H&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6 . This file has the manual in a PDF inside of a compressed folder. You'll need to open the folder to read the manual.

I hope this helps. Web cameras often have microphones. Some laptops often have an integrated web camera; thus they have a microphone mounted on the bezel of the laptop. Blocking that microphone with tape might be useful. I'd block the camera too. For USB connected web cameras, simply unplug the data cable from the computer when you aren't using the camera to disable the microphone.

Acer h233h monitor has blue tint all over screen

It's any one of these issues in decreasing importance video cable, video card, monitor. Make sure the video cable is plugged into the monitor and computer firmly first. After that, start replacing until you hit the culprit. You should be able to take any one of these items back to the store if it doesn't fix it.

I am running Red Hat Linux Enterprise my new Acer H233H is saying Input not supported any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

It says input not support because the PC video resolution is too high for the monitor to display, just need to lower the resolution. Nothing to do with OS, just the video setting.

If you set to native resolution and it still does not work then you will have to open it up and inspect the inside.
