If its lost compression i would remove the two/three screws holding the muffler, take a look through the exhaust port at the piston, if there is any sign of scuffing or damage it is going to be cylinder off.
On your saw it IS a problem. The Husqvarna 350 has a long history of this very problem. I recommend you contact a local Husqvarna dealer, there may a warranted repair, at the very least they have been dealing with problem long enough to know how to provide a long term repair.
If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH Lou
I fear you are correct about the oiler problem. I see a lot of oiler problems on these saws. Sooner or later Husky will have to address it. Ask the dealer about modifying your oiler; the 350 has an adjustable and might fit 1 or both of these saws. I think Husky needs to admit the nonadjustable is a mistake, and come up with a fix.
If you want to do some research start with the IPLs here: HusqvarnaUSA.com http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/ Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers) Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals 06 1500198 06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000) 15 = week produced - March 00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
Please post back (below) with what happens at the dealer. Take your buddy and his saw with you! Good Luck. HTH

If Husky starts modifying all these with 350 oilers I want compensation...LOL
Check the IPL for your saw to see if any special tools are needed.
There are metal piston stops available, when square (almost never) with the piston top these work well, if not square they have been known to punch through the piston. I suggest a length of starter cord or nylon rope be used instead of the piston stop (retain 6" ± so you can remove it). Make sure the piston is near the top of the cylinder before feeding the cord or it can fall through the exhaust port and damage the piston as it rises.
Everyone I have ever removed had a left handed thread (tighten it to loosen it). Let us know how it worked for you.

Your Manual nor IPL mention an oiler adjustment..
445 IPL (may not be your saw)
Is this the original bar? A longer bar requires more oil and your saw is not equipped to supply it. http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/USA/2007/I07000/I0701086.pdf

We are seeing many of these does not oil/oils to much problems with these no adjustment models. I recommend you contact Husqvarna, there may be an unannounced recall/repair. If they aren't willing to help you consider contacting your Atourney General and the BBB.

It has an outboard clutch, the oil pump is behind it. If you attempt a repair this will be helpful. R² Drive Link Outboard Clutch by Drivelink.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdqkIuVNUQc

I think you have the model number. The first digit of the serial number is the year. If that is indeed the sn then it was made in 89 or 99.
sn 04 1800265 (04 - year) (18 - week) (00265 - 265th saw that week) pretty clever these Swedes.

what shop did you take it to.if you took it back to where you bought it from it could be anywhere.make sure the saw has comperssion.easyist way to tell if you have good compression you need to take the muffler off and look to see if the piston is scored.Call husqvarna hot line and they will give you the nearest husqvarna dealer to repair it correctly.
