I am trying to find the PC driver for the Samsung SL605 camera

Do you really need a driver?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Your camera is probably broke

Page 17 of the manual says the black box in the left top corner is the recording mode icon. In this icon you can see what menu you have chosen in the recording mode. In the left bottom of the display is the icon for the drive mode. It tell you if you are taking single pictures continues mode or are taking 5 frames per second (max 30 frames) or taking 3 pictures and compining the three.

Check the battery

You're looking at the dots per inch (DPI) setting. The DPI is an output specification, used when outputting the photo (either on paper or a computer screen) and is irrelevant as far as the camera is concerned. The camera fills in a value simply because it can't leave it blank.

You can take the same photo and print it out as a 4x6 and as a 8x10 and you'll get different DPI settings because the photo is covering more inches in the second case than in the first. For example, if you have a picture that's 3000 pixels in the long dimension, you'll be printing it as 500 DPI in the first case and 300 DPI in the second.

Most digital cameras need the battery removed and charged with an external battery charger.

A charging battery's light is red. If it turns green then it means it is fully charged. Since you had stored your battery for a while, try to charge it by using a battery charger to kickstart it. It should work. Whatever transpires let me know. thanks and rate this answer.

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Hi, Chances are that your SD card is broken, have you tried putting another card in to see if it works? I also suggest that you plug your card into a laptop SD slot (most laptops have it nowadays) and try to access your files, and if you can't or if the card is empty, try to format it from the Computer panel by right-clicking on the SD device and choosing "Format disk"
