I just bought this as a demo unit from Sears, (its actually labeled SA-PT660). There's no inputs that I can find!! It works great as a dvd and CD player, but I wanted to hook up my sat tv reciever thru it to hear Sat programs in surround sound. Any way to do this? also, my rear speakers do nothing. at all. Since it was a demo, I didnt get a manual, so I will download one, but I DO know how to hook up speakers, and not a peep out of the 2 rears. Help!!
Great sound on DVD playback as well as CD. I'm finding it hard to believe there's no HDMI connection to hook up cable or whatnot. I just downloaded the manual and am in the process of scrutinizing it. Also What about a decent applicable code for it? The only manufacturer code I can find only allows my universal remote to turn the power on and off and volume up and down... any ideas

I fixed the main problem. It has inputs, not labeled as such. one set right next to all the outputs labeled only aux.after plugging in to the TV outputs, and putting the unit on AUX, this was fixed. The surround speakers were harder to work out, After downloading the manual, I was able to get sound out of them, however at a lower level than all the others. Even following the speaker level adjustments in the manual, cant get more volume out of them...I'll keep trying.

Considering that this unit comes as a bundle it wouldnt be profitable for stores to carry the parts seperatly. The best bet here would be if it still is within the 30 return policy then to take it back to the store you purchased it from to swap out for another. Since Im sure this isnt the case or you would have already done this you can try to save a dime by searching ebay for part systems and repairing or replacing the problem part in your tray (specifically being the tray motor). Theres plenty of tutorials for similar products found on DIY.com. Heres a link...
Here is a manual that will server your purpose. It is not the exact same model manual to a 'T' but I looked it over real well and it is for your unit too. Your gonna go down to page 16. This is for a model SC-PT660. same unit really.
as far as hooking up your blu ray player to the sc-pt660, the only real way to utilize the surround sound (with true surround sound) is through the optical audio out. You need to connect your blu ray player through hdmi to your tv and then connect your blu ray player to your surround sound using the optical audio out/in. I, personally have the sc-pt660 hooked up through component cables so I don't waste an HDMI input on my TV. Except for cd's, there is no reason for you to use the actual dvd player part of the surround sound considering you have a blu ray player. In conclusion, hooking your blu ray player and the sc-pt660 up to get better video simply isnt possible (your blu ray player alone gives the best possible resolution, 1080p). As far as audio goes, run an optical audio cable from your blu ray player to your sc-pt660 to get true surround sound.
My best advice is to do a factory reset on the system and then set it up again like you did when you first installed it. Unless your daughter physically damaged cables, the system should work OK. It's no use trying to work out what she disconnected as that will take even longer than a factory reset.
Use the same gauge that is supplied for the rear. Probably 24 gauge.Do it with the power off. If the wires touch with the power on the rear output IC will blow. Good Luck
