Bought a used Ariens Sierra 1440H lawn tractor with a Briggs 14 HP engine, 42" mower deck and a snow blade. Don't know it's age but it runs fine, looking for an Owners Manual and more info on it, can't find a plate showing serial number. Where are Owners Manuals/Service Manuals available?

Maybe this will help.The mower deck part # 165892. Mower Deck Assembly 42" I not sure of the model # . I also don't know your tractor's model # either. This part # for the 42" mower deck,is installed on a 18.5 HP Craftsman Lawn Tractor. I believe there isn't any difference between a model !8.5 HP and a model 20.0 HP, tractor when it comes to a mower deck. B.Locke

need to know the engine manufacture and then look the engine numbers up... If it's a tecumseh they are no longer producing engines in america so no luck, if its a briggs then you can go to their site with the engine numbers and look for a service manual...

42 go to sears they have them also try ebay u may find 1 there i needed 1 for my sears ltx1000 went to ebay a bought a new 1 on auction for $175

take a piece of rope and run it around all the pulleys a mower shop or parts store can match it to that

To replace blades, belts, sharpen blades, etc. one must remove what is called the cutting deck from the tractor.
Once the deck is off the tractor, pull it out, turn it over and you can work on the blades.

the solenoid is sticking inside the housing

Check the drive belt for the blades

check seat switch make sure it is plug in good you can unplug it and jump it with a jumper wire to see if switch is bad
