I formatted a sandisk sansa with a mac and it formatted everything even the os on it so how do i put it back?????

    Hello,
Here's a page showing links how to reconnect the player to the MAC Operating System and how to use iTunes for the e200 series:
    http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/229/kw/mac/p/555%2C618/r_id/101834

When the firmware on the player has been erased, a download and reinstallation of the firmware has to be performed.

The Sansa Firmware Updater can only be used on Windows based systems: So get the firmware directly from this site : http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board?board.id=e200
Check the version of your player to get the matching download.

e.g. selecting e200 v2 there's one download for America; 2 downloads for Europe, one without FM (radio) and one with FM.
Read the instructions on the sandisk forums site for the players recovery.

    Sandisk 240 stuck in

It sounds like your player firmware may have been corrupted....

There are two ways you can solve the problems you are having...
    1) format the device using the windows media player (NOT MY COMPUTER)...
    2) Format the player using the player itself

In addition to that get the latest firmware upgrade from sandisk..

    Hope that solve the problems

Trying to get my sandisk to down load music

    1)Re-run the installation CD.
    2) Go to: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

    3) If that fails, do this:
Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

    Error with formatting

Its not a firmware update you are running, it is a recovery tool. The "application failed to read version details" error is because it is not meant for your device. You have a Rhapsody version and the firmware is different. You will need to call SanDisk for them to email support documents. SanDisk Technical Support 1-866-726-3475 If you are truly trying to format the device, change the mode on the device Settings>Mode or USB Mode, then try formatting again. Best of Luck.

    No more music

    - As with nearly ALL sansa e250 problems, formating it will bring it back to normal. 1. Connect it to your computer. 2. Open 'My Computer' and right-click the device. 3. choose 'format...' and then 'quick format'. 4. If you haven't done so, upgrade the firmware: -Find the firmware on the Sandisk home page. Don't use the wrong one, though. If you have a Rhapsody version, choose the e200r player. Download the .zip file and extract its contents (right-click, 'extract all'). Then connect your player to your computer and drag the extracted file to your player's drive. Now when you turn your player on, it'll undergo the firmware update. You can also update your firmware by connecting to Rhapsody with your player hooked up and following the firmware update instructions when the window comes up. If the firmware update window doesn't appear, then you have the latest firmware to date. 5. Test out the player and see if this method worked. If not, you may want to send it back sandisk or return to the retailer you bought it from.
