There are two features which cause the radio to make a tone or beep, before or following a transmission: Talk Confirmation Tones (aka Roger Beep) and Call Tones.

On the T6510 radio you would hold in the + (plus) button while turning the radio on, to turn ON the roger beep. To turn it OFF you would hold in the - (minus) button while turning the radio on.

Call Tones are a little more detailed explanation. You can find directions for both in the user guide on page 25: http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/T65xx.pdf

Best regards.

Does it have a Sony radio in it? Sometimes these radios beep when you start and shut down the vehicle. Different models have different ways to silence them.

Short beep, 1,5 sec silence, short beep, 1,5 sec silence, short beep, 1,5 sec silence, short beep, about 3 sec silence and then complete shutdown

Hello,

There is a problem with the laptop that is why you get the short beeps and then it shuts down.

The problem mainly is that, the components in the laptop are not sitting well or there is a faulty component in it. So it is not able to run a full loading of the operating system.

Have a repair man assess the RAM and other components in the laptop like the Hard disc and the rest. Remove them and install them back in.

Any fault detected should be corrected.

Take care

I don't know the answer, but I'm having evidently the same problem. I get 5 beeps in about one second followed by 3 seconds of silence and the pattern repeats indefinitly. F3 shows briefly in the window each cycle. Please email me at dmusicant at pacbell dot net if you have any ideas! Thanks!
