Green people on my mitsubishi wd62827

The grills behind the bulb are distorted from overheating.i moved itfarther from the wall,i can barely detect any air movement coming from inside.
its a year &1/2 old and gets plenty of use.we live in phoenix,so in summer it's usually 75 degrees inside the house.i thought about mounting a small box fan about the size of opening to help pull air out of unit,seems to be a problem with air flow? what do you think?
originally i thought the bulb needed replaced.but after letting it cool down(power off),it would be ok for a while.got to where people turned green & gray after 10 minutes.i took the back cover off &vacuumed all dust,3 fans run,1in front of bulb,main one in center &1behind circuits.put it back together & works maybe 2 hours before people turn green.i think it has a ventilation problem.can you help me ?thanks in advance

Lamp Out

There is typically an access door on the back of the TV which is used to replace the lamp. Consult your user manual for more details.

Once the set detects that the bulb has been replaced (you may have to tell it via a menu option, but that is a bit rare), it will then take over for calibration and such (if it has that ability).

Be darn careful that you do not handle the bulb with your bare hands. Would be fantastic idea if you were to handle the bulb with linen gloves. It probably is not halogen, but you also don't want to be leaving a print on the mirror or similar.

Mitsubishi 1080p 73'' DLP HDTV - Color distortion

This would be the little sensor on the light wheel. Its cheap, you can get them online for around $2. You will need to take the light engine out and remove the color wheel cover and remove the color wheel and then remove the sensor. You will have to desolder the sensor and remove it to replace with the new one.
What is happening is the sensor is overheating and not tracking the color wheel properly there for the colors get messed up. Once you replace the sensor the tv should work like normal. The part is
(Sharp GP2S40 Photointerrupter). It is very difficult to find because they are not made anymore. Most major online part stores do not carry them but I found a lot of them at Wright Hobbies. Good luck.

Mitsubishi WD52525 DLP Projection TV

Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

Vertical line down the center of screen

A WD62827 is a V30+ chassis and is a DLP format projection screen Tv, not a flat screen, am I missing something?? For the symptoms you're describing with a WD62827 remove and reseat the DVI cable between the chassis and optical engine. If removing and reseating the DVI cable does not resolve the issue you may need to replace the Optical Engine part # 938P019020
BTW the current software version for this unit is 7.04.1F if you have anything less you might think about updating the software also..
Hope this helps!

Round shadows in picture

Sounds like the Bulb is almost out of life or a dustball or something is moving around inside the light compartment. Look in the instruction or user manual on replaceing bulb or opening bulb compartment or call Mits. for a service center in your area. Good Luck
