Open a blank document and print it. (You can print a blank Ms-word document). Now check the print out, does the black streak come out with it? If so, continue with the blank prints several times and check whether it subsides (reduces) or not. If so, there must be ink splattered inside the paper passage, if you can't disassemble the printer, you better print several blank documents and clean it. You can use wasted papers, no matter how dirty they are.
If nothing comes out with it, then let me know. I would need the name of the operating system installed on your computer.
I will assist you how to troubleshoot and fix the issue.
Thanks and awaiting.
This is becaue of incorrectly fitted toner or imaging unit would cause a black line at the the prints.
Also clean the printer drum.

It is an ink jet printer... do I have a drum?
I took each cartridge out, thinking the black was leaking somehow because I can't imagine how ink is going on the back side of the print surface when it is a straight through paper feed. Reseating the cartridges did not effect the problem. This has been going on for a while and increasing going from an occasional smudge to as I have said, a solid 1/4 streak down the back side. The front side is fine except the black is bleeding through. ♠
