Samsung Maxima 105 zoom

No manual. The settings seem to work or at least you can step through them. It has three buttons SET MODE and FLASH that have no explaination of what they do. set seems to do nothing. Once the film is placed in the camera, it advances to 1 exp and the shutter does not work although it works during dry firing. It advances film, the lens cover works and the zoom works, Just no shutter. Open the back and when you close it the film advances again but the shutter will not fire. Is this an easy repair or a hopeless one.

The camera cost me less than three dollars along with several other cameras which I purchased at a flea market. There is no sense in using the plan you offer when I can replace the camera after taking it apart and learning what I can from it. It is a cheap education. Apparently your site offers no solutions without the payment so I learned even more. Thanks for the continuing education.

I have the manual. I'll scan it for you & email it. My problem is that the manual doesn't identify the batteries & I lost the ones I'd removed for storage.

The flash will not work on my Samsung S860 Digital Camera. It used to work and now it doesn't... I tried to go through the menu to fix it and it seems to say it is on? But, when you take a picture it does...

the S860 has three flash modes in which the flash only fires under certain conditions.
- in Auto Flash mode and Auto & Red Eye Reduction mode, the flash will only fire if the subject or background is dark; otherwise it won't flash.
- in Slow Synchro mode, the flash only fires when the camera's using a slow shutter speed.
if you have your flash mode set to any of these, the flash will only fire when the camera determines that flash is needed; otherwise it won't fire. to have the flash fire all the time and automatically vary its intensity according to how much light is needed, set the flash mode to Fill flash; to turn the flash off altogether (so that it won't fire no matter what), set the flash mode to Flash Off.
for all the details on the S860's flash modes, you can download the user manual here and refer to pages 28 and 29.
hope this helps...

No picture

it seems that the flex ribbion cable from the camera body to the lense assembly is damaged. A good repairer can replace it.
