hi,
it sounds that you have one of the 3 CCD that has mooved ! you need to readjust it !

You may download the GY-DV500 manuals from here.

It is indeed a CCD sensor problem, and replacement is the only option if you wish to keep using the camcorder.

It's 32 years old - I'm amazed anything works on it. Have you looked in the manual ?

From what I understand, the camera sustained a burn, similar to that of a retinal burn in the human eye. Once these receptor cells are damaged, they rarely become normal again. The good news, is the camera reception device can be replaced.

Are you shooting 24p? Make sure you're using the correct capture presets. DV NTSC 48k 24Pa (presuming you're shooting 24p advanced)
if this doesn't help, close final cut and delete your com.apple.finalcutpro.plist file from library>preferences. This should solve additional cadence problems.
