paper clip.... make 2 notchs one in bottom of screen and one in top of computer base. and then fold the paperclip to make it difficult for it to fall back.or..tape it on the back with strong tape when its open the farthest you want. if you wanted it open to 90 degrees youd tape it there on back with duct tape and then when it trys to slide back the tape will be so tight its unable to without force. if this works let me know
You need to bring it in to a repair shop as soon as possible. If it is
leaking liquid, that liquid is toxic and shouldn't be left where kids or
animals can accidentally get into it. It shouldn't cost too much to
have the screen replaced at a local repair shop...
as you wrote your laptop fell off the bed, it seems like some pixels are gone forever. The dislpay should be replaced (contact some local repair shop so they can touch it and see what they can do)
Basically you start by removing the rubber bumpers located at the 4 corners and along side the plastic strip that goes around the lcd screen. One they are removed you can remove the screws that hold the plastic strip. Use your finger to pry the plastic strip off.
Next you start removing the screws that hold the lcd screen on the sides. Then tilt the lid forward and the screen will fall into your hand. Don't let it fall down on the keyboard because there is a cable in the back of the lcd screen that you will need to remove. The cable might have a piece of tape at the connections to make it secure.
If the screen does not fall down then you might have screws at the 4 corners that are holding it, so remove them.
Unfortunately the only option you have is to have the LCD screen replaced, they are easily damaged in a fall and there nothing more than can be done. But the video cable from the motherboard to the screen might have been jarred loose and should be checked.
Your looking $75- $150 depends on where you go this can be fix though you just need to shop around repair shops do not fall for internet scams and send your unit to anyone that is not well established company with a heck of a good track record please do not fall victom- thanks please rate.
The error message means you use the Windows installation CD to repair Windows by booting up with the Windows CD and select r at the first screen to start repair.
It's very common for a dropped TV to have a cracked circuit board as a result. This happens because the case twists and stresses the board, or heavy parts get jolted and break the board in that area. The copper traces of the circuit board get broken or parts break free. Then all kinds of troubles can occur.
Often the damage can be repaired, and just about as often it can't. It depends on the extent of the damage and the size of the traces and parts involved. A service technician could certainly examine the set and try to determine if it's repairable, but this kind of problem is one many shops won't touch. There's too much of a chance of missing something and not making a reliable repair, and no shop wants callbacks. If it's a small enough set you might just want to consider replacing it. Otherwise check your Yellow Pages for a shop in your area.
Sorry I can't give you better news, but I saw lots of gravity victims in my shop days and it was a mixed bag.
