My 36" Trinitron standby lite just keeps blinking..

Sony Trinitron 36" keeps blinking the standby light (7 blinks in each interval) but will not turn on. No Picture No Sound. Can you please give me some information on how to fix this problem ???? Our Sony KV 34HS420 is having a standby problem. We have never used the sleep/standby option. But lately, if you turn the TV off then decide to turn it back on it will go into standby/sleep mode. Then it's hours before you can get it to turn back on. I cannot find my manual. I've been thru the TV menu to see if there's something I can do there, but no luck. Help! I have an older Sony Trinitron. Its big and bulky and heavy compared to the recent models. But it has great picture and sound when it works. I got it repaired once for the same problem. Turns on and goes to standby. Paid a bundle. I see one fuse and the TV clicks loudly right in that area. So I'm hoping its the fuse. It blinks 38 or 39 times on standby before the red light goes off. I try to turn it back on by hitting the power button not once (because it does nothing) but on the second try it starts to do the same thing and nothing happens. Any suggestions? I'm going to Radio Shack to see if I can find the fuse. It looks caked in white. By the way when I opened the back of the TV it is just filthy. Do I need to get it cleaned ( perhaps this is causing it to overheat). Just asking. I know I should by a new tv. Its at least 15 years old. But don't have the money right now. Thanks.
