Hi,

All you need to do is rotate the shooting mode selector dial on top of the camera to an appropriate shooting mode.

Try putting it on the Green color "Auto" and you will be good to go!

If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be more than happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.

I will appreciate your feedback and positive rating for this free solution.

When I put it on M mode or auto mode it takes really horrible pictures, can't even see the picture, real bright.. When I put it on movie mode it takes great pictures but that is not good.

Usually when it is on M mode there is additional options you can adjust "manually" for good shots... It could just be that the options are adjusted not for the type of Pics you intend to make. Ex. It's set on low light when you are trying to take a high light exposure picture.

Camera works but mode selections are mixed up or have dissappeared

It often helps to specify the make and model
If it has a separate button battery that stores the settings, replacing it should solve your problem

otherwise try replacing your batteries

A630 clicks and wont take picture. Stays in preview mode.

Do you mean you are expecting it to show the photo that you just took for a few seconds before it goes back to preview mode? There's a menu setting which I think is called "Picture Review" and you can set it for something like 0, 2 seconds, 5 seconds, something like that.

I hope that was it.

How do I get out of Movie Mode?

Unfortunately it sounds as if that camera will need to be sent in for service. Call Tech Support at 1-800-828-4040 to do a little troubleshooting and get your possible repair options.

Hope this helps.

Mine did that. I just took the batteries out and kept them out for a few minutes when I put them back in it stopped. I think I turned the settings around a few times after I took the batteries out.

Cannot Record Videos

I would try changing the memorised info that you put into your My1 settings and see if that helps. I just got my V700 today and the first thing I did was put my preferences into My1. I don't really know why your camera is transferring this to your video setting but try removing your presettings in My1.

Sony cybershot dsc-s600

Hi, here is a temporary solution that might work for you as it did for me:

1: turn on the camera in picture/movie review mode
2: turn the screen off (not the camera)
3: change from review picture/movie mode to take picture/movie mode
4: turn the screen back on.

You should now be able to take pictures and record.

Hope this is of some help.

Stopped taking pictures . . .

When previous pictures display fine but does not take new one directs the problem to camera mode problem. Some component is at fault in the main board which controls menu functions and display is damaged. For the solution, the main board is repaired or replaced by technician. The repair cost may run between $100 to $200 in US.
