When the calculator is in Alpha mode, the blinking square cursor symbol is replaced with the reversed-A symbol. This symbol indicates that the next key you press will insert the green letter above that key. To take the calculator out of Alpha mode, press [ALPHA].

It's not. It's called the "caret" key because on many calculators it's marked by a caret symbol (^).

I assume you refer to the caret ^ symbol, sometimes used as an operator for exponentiation.

I hope you mean the TI-30XA, since TI never released a TI-30A.

The TI-30XA uses two A76 batteries, also known as 357. You should be able to find them at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store.

First press 3. Then press the carrot to add the exponent. Then you would press the square root button and insert a 5 in it.

You press the carrot looking symbol after your coefficient and before your exponent number.

look for a key that has this symbol ^ this is often called a carrot. it's somewhere in the middle and on the right. go 10^21
