Top freezer workin, bottom part of fridge not cooling at all

Maybe dampervis shut between fridge and freezer. If it’s new, call warranty service

Most frideges get all their cooling from the freezer. There will be a fan and duct in the back of the freezer that pushes cold air down into the fridge. If the duct is blocked with ice or the fan motor has quit. Your freezer will work fine but the fridge will barely cool at all. Check that the fan runs when the compressor is running, ( turn both temp knobs to the highest cooling and leave door open until comp. comes on). If the fan runs your duct is plugged. If not you need a new " Freezer Fan Motor". Most are simple to replace and cost around $100.00.

The fluxating temps bottom to top and top to bottom freezing are a result of the "air damper and baffle assy" not functioning properly. I would attempt fo make my case with LG that this started while the unit was under full warranty and persists today.

If the fan is working fine the next thing to check for is heavy frost on the back wall of the freezer section toward the middle to bottom area. If you have frost there you will need to remove the panel and with ref. off use a hair dryer to defrost the ice from the coils. After the ice is defrosted you will see a defrost heater at the bottom of the evaporator coils. This will be your problem Part number 51x10101 at about 64.00 or less. Hope this helps and good luck. I do not understand your question because your note says it is a top freezer, but the fridge is ok?
The bottom section IS the fridge on this type.

my refridgerator seems to be workin the freezer is getting cold but not freezing its a top freezer bottom refridgerator the fan in the freezer is also not workin.i had atec come out to check it out. supposedly theres a capasitor that sits next to the compressor that he told me was bad an had to be ordered.its got 2 wires that come off the compressor that plug into this lil box.my question is could this be why my freezer is not freezing an also why the fan inside the freezer is not workin?
