Why is my signal fading in out on my Sirius star-mate st2? I got it in a wide open area. Signal goes from 3 bars to 2 bars then 3 bars to no signal. Had Sirius reset my signal twice now and no luck..

ya just got off the phone with the tech guy and he thinks it has to do with something with the receiver. I already tried using 2 antennas and the same thing happened. And its not under warranty so i'm pretty much SOL.

Hello,

I will advice you talk it to Sirius to help check the service antenna if it has broken, this is most likely the cause or better still if the Sirius star-mate st2 is still under warranty, you let them help replace it, because this is likely to be a panel problem if not service antenna problem.

Take care.

    Hello,

Am afraid to tell you that you will need to take it down so that they can help look into the receiver antenna.

I have a Sirius Starmate ST2. It's stuck on 0% updating. Any suggestions? Antenna placement a d connection seems fine

Hard Reset:
Sometimes a hard reset can help. You can do this by pulling the fuse related to the Sirius system, letting it sit for a couple of minutes, and then putting it back in. Afterward, start the car, perform the Sync maintenance update, shut the car off, and then turn it back on.

If you're unsure about which fuse to pull, consult your vehicle's manual or seek professional assistance. But thee following may help. Behind the glovebox. There's 2 15amp fuses on the top-righthand side. It'll be the left one of those two.

Refresh the Signal:
Visit the SiriusXM signal refresh page and follow the instructions to refresh your SiriusXM signal. Note that you may need to select a specific channel during this process, but if the system is stuck, this might be challenging..

Check for Memory Leaks:
After disconnecting the battery, you mentioned that radio stations displayed their real frequency instead of "403" or incorrect frequencies. This suggests that there might be memory leaks in the Windows CE and Entertainment applications. Keep an eye on this behavior and consider reporting it to SiriusXM or seeking further technical support.

Remember that these steps are general troubleshooting suggestions,

I have a Sirius Starmate ST2 that is stuck in the Acquiring Signal mode. It is not an antenna problem. The radio has failed. Does anyone know of the fix for this? I know it can be fixed since I've...

More than likely the antenna connection has jogged loose somehow, and just needs to be soldered. The person who handles all of our repairs at TSS Radio does this often, and I'm sure could tell you specifics. His email is [email protected]

This is a very old radio, and your antenna could be shot too. Try another antenna first.

Sirius Receiver goes silent and displays Acquiring Signal.

I have a 3 year old Sportster 2 replay unit that worked perfect until 1 month ago. I posted my problem on this website a day before you did with this same problem. I googled to no end and even spoke to Sirius who wasn't willing to replace my unit at no charge since it was out of warranty. I found an unusual solution on the internet that worked for me. I place my receiver in the freezer for at least 20 minutes (this was recommended by a guy somewhere on the internet with the same problem). I have actually left it in freezer overnight too. This has solved my problem. It is the craziest thing but I thought I would try it before I resorted to replacing all my accessories and receiver since Sirius was less than cooperative with the issue. Anyway, hope this helps.

Sirius starmate ST2

Try replacing the antenna with a new one. There could be something going on with the wiring in there.

Signal Fading In and out

Most of the Xact models use the standard Sirius antenna. Unfortunately Xact no longer supports satellite radios. You can get a replacement antenna from any Sirius dealer and see if that works. Sounds like the antenna wiring might be broken or shorted out.
