The barcode is probably not enabled in factory settings. I would propose to use the manufacturers software called DataWedge, provided at support.symbol.com and check again. If you still have no luck try to find out which kind of barcode is it, by the producer and enable it in the settings of the software. Or better just select the option "Enable All" in the Basic configuration of DataWedge

Scanner suddenly stopped scanning, red light shines on UPC but nothing happens

Unplug the scanner, then power it on again. If it reads once and then stops, it is a configuration error such as bad cable or wrong settings in register. If it doesn't read straight after power up, try scanning the 'start' barcode in the scanner's programming manual. It should always be able to read this code. If it reads it, you have a setting fault in the scanner and you need to re-program it to read UPC and EAN codes again. If it reads none of the above codes after power up, have it checked by a dealer

The barcode reader eclipse ms5145 powers on,the laser light blinks and beeps at scan by not scan the barcode

It could be either one of two things, first of all will this unit scan any barcodes, or is it just one particular one it will not scan. If nothing scans and if no special programming was added to the scanner I would consider defaulting the unit back to factory settings. This procedure can be found in the manual that came with the scanner or here is a link http://www.honeywellaidc.com/CatalogDocuments/00-02544%20Rev%20K%202-11.pdf *** If you are going to do this please confirm that no special programming was done to this *** but normally they are ready to scan right out the box. So scan the barcode to "enter/exit configuration" the unit will beep tree times, then scan the "recall defaults" and the unit will beep once. Then scan the "enter/exit configuration" once more. Then try to scan a retail barcode. Hope this helps.

Barcode Scanner stopped scanning

These devices do fail, so that is most likely what has happened here.

When scanning green light goes on beeps and nothing else happens.

Here's a link to the page where you can download all the manuals, software, etc for that unit. You might need to cut and paste it into your browser's address bar. Godd luck!

Barcode scanner won't scan.

You are likely experiencing power sag. If you are using a 15 foot usb cable try a 6 foot one instead. Even if that doesn't work it still could be power sag.

We sell an external power cable kit that replaces your USB cable with one that includes a power pack on the computer side.

The power pack provides the extra power you need.

It happens when it does becuase when the laser comes on more power is needed than available. The 5 VDC sags and the processor whigs out on you.

The red light on the scanner seems to be on most of the time

If you are using magellan 1000i with no button, then it must be your scanner broken. But If you use a button trigger try to push it a while. The Button is on top of the scanner, with a white / light green color.
