Unfortunately The minds at Konica Minolta have figured out how to make the machine Inoperable if you reset the drum and or developer counters, the only way to reset the "change drum" condition on a Biz 350 is to replace the drum AND the developer and calibrate them both when you do it automatically resets the counters... sorry.

There is a warning said : " fuser unit end". What is the problem for that printer HL-4040CN? Even after I changed the drum unit and belt unit, there are still 2 warnings appearing to ask for...

first you are talking about the FUSER END message that means you have to change the FUSER and as for the DRUM and BELT you have to RESET the TIMER to tell the printer that it has been changed as well as for the FUSER those are consumable parts they have a life and the printer is programed to tell you to change them after so much copies.

Good luck!

The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".

Press 1 to reset the drum count.

DRUM LIGHT WON'T GO OFF - SAYS NEARING END OF LIFE....NOT VERY OLD. IS THIS FIXABLE OR SHOULD YOU JUST REPLACE??

Depending on what type of brother you have you will likely have to follow a procedure to reset the drum life counter in the machine. If your machine has a "go" button on it try holding that when turning on the machine until all LED's light up. When you turn it back on the drum light should not be lit anymore. If this doesn't work simply search "(your model of brother) Drum counter reset". This should give you instructions on how to reset it on your particular machine.

Cannot reset the change drum soon message after replacing drum.

This message would appear if the drum unit is near the end of its life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one.

This message would continue to appear if the clear plastic starter sheet was removed from the "new" drum before it was installed. This plastic starter sheet, resets the drum counter. To reinstall drum with the starter sheet, please follow the instructions listed below:

Locate the starter sheet. Clear plastic sheet, 9 inches long, with a cut out in the center. The sheet will have "Initialization of your new drum successfully completed. Please discard this sheet" written on it.

If you cannot locate the starter sheet, contact the Brother Customer Service or the appropriate Brother authorized dealer.

Brother 5170DN

Normally there is a drum reset procedure with every new drum.
To reset your drum counter open the front cover (as you would replace the drum)
leave the cover open and the printer on.
Press the go button untill all 4 leds are lit. After that release the go button.
Normally now the drum counter has been reset, you may close the front cover again.

To check your drum status, press 3 times go in a fairly fast way. By doing that the printer will print his configuration pages, on the second or third page i guess you will find your pagecounters and the remaining life of your consumables.
Check the status of your drum, it should be full again.

Brother hl-1430 :drum , ready and alarm leds flashing

This just means that your drum life has nearly reached his end.
Note that when you replace the drum you need to perform the drum counter reset procedure, otherwise the leds will keep on burning after replacing the drum unit.
