I recommend you try to reinstall the drivers for the camera. You can get the drivers from lenovo.com > support > idea brand. If its still not detected you need to report it to Lenovo Hardware Support. Its 1 877 453 6686 option 2.Thanks

hi! just a tip if its a brand new one try to isolate the problem check if it can actually run by removing the battery just by the ac adapter if still doesnt work then probably you have to charge the battery first if it still doesnt charge then probably there is somethin wrong with the power board. i suggest you call your lenovo tech support for further assistance. hope this would help goodluck!

I'm not sure how the retail law works in your country but you have to take the computer back to Office Depot and demand your money back, don't bother trying to fix the computer.
If you have bought the computer within the last 7 days then I'm sure you are entitled to a full refund.
If you have bought the computer as refurbished then it may be more difficult to get a refund, you will have to check store policy first before approaching them.
Threaten them with the law if you have to. They say that Lenovo won't take it back? usually when you purchase a brand new laptop computer you are covered by at least 1 year's manufacturers warranty.
How come there is none on the laptop you have got.
I'm sure if you push hard enough you will get a refund, if you do, go elsewhere for a another laptop.

I bought this model several months ago and it was working great up until Christmas time.  For some reason it just stopped working.  I couldn't get it to turn on OR sometimes it would turn on after several attempts.  I kept changing the batteries and sometimes that would work, but it was more or less random successes.  I found this link on FixYa : http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/service/batteries/batteryDigCamChart.jhtml?camera=C813
I was using generic batteries (Philips) which I bought in bulk from a discount tech store and these batteries were working in the camera since I bought it.  The batteries were new; just generic.  By coincidence I ended up buying KODAK branded alkaline batteries from the same store.  I replaced the older generic ones with the KODAK batteries and the camera came back to life!  I'll leave it off for a day and see if it turns on tomorrow.

i got the exactly same problem!!
i bought it on 16th/Feb, next day,17/Feb not more than 20 pictures i took, the issue comes (lens won't action while shift the zoom lever, but it's working ok while switch on and off the camera)
so i bing it to the shop with my angry, they just said to me that you must dropped the camera.

--but i sware i didn't !!!
now they took the camera to Canon base for the exam...
