The problem is most likely the the video processor module
bad (surface mount caps.) app. 8 to 10 of them.
If you are good you can replace them.
if not replace the module.

Sounds like your convergence modules have gone bad. They have 21 close spaced pins to unsolder and resolder. You'll need a soldering iron with a fine point tip and thin gauge solder to do the repairs yourself. Solder bridges between pins are common when soldering these module pins, so have some unsoldering wick handy if you're going to fix it yourself. I had the exact same problem. The screen would shrink then expand. After thrity minutes it would correct itself. Then one day it just broke - no sound and no video. I searched these forums but did not find clear instructions on how to fix it. I gave up and called in a repair tech. He fixed my TV in less than 30 minutes.
