i bought a nokia 6300 today and it is blocked to optus network but i want it to be unlocked so i can use my telstra sim do you have the restriction code to unlock it??

To unlock the phone you need to call Optus, they will provide a code over the phone for a small fee.
You can also get the phone unlocked at any computer shop.

Also, is the phone networked locked or security locked?

No Brother it is paid service and many providers give it. U may search them here at fixya or other mobile support forum like GSMHOSTING, GSMHELP etc. No one can give u such code because it is part of Nokia security. The code is as per cell's unique IMEI and only can be obtained by professional software tools like BB5 box and other compitable tools. It is advisable to visit nearby mobile technician who have such box. He will charge u for that. If it sounds informative do not forget to vote.
