Jfinch sorry it took so long to answer. If all the lights are blinking check to make sure that the freewheel levers are in drive mode. then check (if you have the power seat option ) that the seat is all the way down, and finally the problem could be in the controller check to make sure that the cable connection to the controller is well seated. If all these are correct and you still get the error then you will have to contact Hoveround tech support to find out what else you can do. They might have to send out a tech to look at the chair. Sorry I couldn't give you a quick fix Hope this helps you

The number of bars that are blinking will also help to indicate what the problem is. Fault codes are located in the back of the owner's manual.Try doing the brake reset as previously suggested or the lock out sequence noted in the manual; call it in if neither of those steps help.

Hoveround Teknique XHD had a flat changed inner tube put back on now the motor spins but the tire stays still

The shaft is turning and not the wheel, that means the key is missing off the shaft. or the freewheel lever needs to be flipped into drive mode.

Manual brake switch

Chair motors sometimes do not have brake switches. It relies on the gear ratio keeping the chair from moving while not under power. The freewheel lever disconnects the gear box from the motor.

Regarding your Hoveround Teknique?..You should contact Hoveround directly. They made the chair. They will probably service it for you, and you might get it serviced for free--maybe. Go their website (http://www.hoveround.com) and see the Contact Us page.

Not sure witch jazzy chair i got but the joy stick blink and keeps blinking i have tried pushing horn button twice and also turning it on and pushing joy stick forward waiting for it to beep but no beep....

The jazzy probably has a VSI controller and if it is sleep mode then the lights will scroll rather than blink. Now turn on the chair and see if the blinks have a pause between them, ie 4 blinks pause 4 blinks pause etc If they do count the number of blinks and this will give you the error code ie 4 blinks right motor 3 blinks left motor your owners manual should have a chart listing the error codes If not you can contact Pride tech support @ 1-800-800-8586 ask for jazzy tech support

Hope this helps

On hoveround teknique fwd chair, showing 8-bar trouble code with all functions locked out. i need to a) raise the seat so it can be removed and b) restore function to the chair. any suggestions apart from...

An 8 Bar Flash on the controller of a Teknique FWB indicates: Possible Control System Trip
A control system trip is indicated. Make sure that all connections are secure. This means that one of the wires attached to the junction box, or the umbillical, may have come disconnected.

Is your power chair equipped with an optional power seat lift? If not, raising or lowering the seat will not restore function to the power chair. Have you tried doing a brake reset just to see if that will help? The manual brake levers are under the bottom front of the chair base; turn off the controller, pull the levers down then push them back up until the pop into place. This reset will clear many issues.

If you are able to check the wiring for the junction box and wish to remove the seat, you can do so, but the Teknique series is terribly difficult for the average end-user to work on and is recommended that a Hoveround Technician do it. Hoveround will not even ship batteries for self-installation to owners of any of the Teknique power chairs because they are such a pain to work on. The seat must be fully removed to gain access to the batteries under the motor cover and most power chair owners do not posses the kind of strength and dexterity needed to do it.

The seat post can be removed by removing a bolt underneath the seat, you will also need to unclip the black umbilical cord leading from the controller to the motor cover so that you do not yank it out when you remove the seat. The motor/battery cover can then be unbolted to allow you access to the batteries and junction box. I cannot give you details on how to do this, because as a Hoveround Tech Support Rep, we are instructed to dispatch a technician for the customer's safety and I have never done it myself or even seen it done.

If your Hoveround was purchased via your Insurance, they will most likely pay for the repair, but it may take time to schedule the appointment if the Insurance requires documentation or verification before allow the repair to take place. If you are in need of additional assistance, please contact Hoveround Tech Support at 800-964-6837 on Wednesdays or Thursdays when the call volume is lower. It's worth a shot.

Good luck!

Does my Hoveround need to be on or off when I plug it into the battery? Does it need to be on so that the lights show up on the joy stick or do you turn the chair completely off and then plug in the...

Either way will work when charging the batteries and it wion't hurt the chair either way. If you can stand to have the lights scrolling all night when you charge the chair then leave it on If not turn the power off Your charger will tell you when its finished by turning the yellow light green. Hope this helps
