My microwave oven glass window shattered. Can I get a new glass or do I have to replace the entire oven. I'm in Belgium

    Hi I have broken inner glass on the same oven. It's a combined oven & microwave. Branded as BOSCH but same model number - appears to be HTHB84K. It's the inner glass, rather than the outer door which is also made of glass.

    In the UK. Will let you know if i get it fixed.

    No idea why this this question is listed under a different appliance just found it on google, maybe a mod could fix it . . .

I have two thoughts, both guesswork based on knowledge gained by researching answers here on Fixya.

If you removed the door completely, the safety microswitches need re-adjusting. The door and hinges usually has three or sometimes 4 to make it impossible to use the oven with the door open.

Or, modern ovens have a safety catch under the glass edges that won't allow the oven to work if there is NO glass on the inside, or no glass on the outside. In other words, there must be 2 (or 3) panes of glass to stop children, old folks and pets getting burned by door glass that is the same temperature as a oven.

The final possibility is that the microwave failing is coincidental and not related to the door glass being replaced!

you must replace it . However you must shure the MAGNETRON is faulty. Since the emission of power is high shatters the turntable.You must go the repair shopt for to diagnose, and measure the level of watts.

The inner door glass shattered and now no power
There's a safty switch which prevents the unit from operating if the door isn't fully closed. When the glass shattered a small piece may have blocked the switch from operating properly. Check around the door seals for any irregularities.

Most likely, the bowl is not a microwave approved bowl. Simply b/c the bowl is glass does not mean it is safe for microwave use. Hope this helps.

Glass continually shattering on combination neff oven
That's a huge gap.

You might ask their customer service people to authorize the replacement of the whole door or the glass and the inner door panel where the gap is.

If they won't help you, you could clean it thoroughly, then carefully caulk the gap with high temperature caulk.
