Black spot on pictures - cleaned lenses and inside

you can not clean at your self. Use dry cotton or ear buds for cleaning the lens front side. After that if its still there then use compressed ai in surrounding the lens. After that if the spot still there then you need to visit service center for cleaning the lens internal side.

It can be a piece of sticky dust or dirt on sensor surface which can't be removed with a blower or canned air. You can try to remove it by yourself with special cleaning swab and cleaning liquid. But this process requires some experience, so the safer way is to bring camera to service center where sensor can be cleaned fast and risk free.

You cannot clean the inside, it it indeed has something inside. It is impossible to such a thing without complete dis-assembly of the camera.

I doubt it would be a good idea to try to get in there and get rid of the spot yourself.

If it does not affect your photos significantly then leave it be or if you feel you must, have a a professional clean it. ($$$$). Weigh the cost vs. leaving it alone.

you should be able to clean the exterior of the lens with a clean microfiber cloth or lens cleaning papers (available at even wal-mart). If the spots are in the inside of the lens body, you have to send this in to be cleaned as the camera will have to be disassembled to do it right.

I fixed it!!!! If you can open one of the sides (on the JVC there is a little door with a screw), then you can clean the projector lense in the middle on the bottom. It kind of looks like a big light bulb. It seems there is just dust on the glass that is projected onto the screen. We had a big gray spot and cleaned it with a damp glass cloth and Ouila! It disappeared. I scored MAJOR brownie points with my husband for this one! He wanted to replace the TV!

There could be something going on with the CCD unit if you tried cleaning the lens.

You sould have it looked at by a technician

Nice picture illustrates the problem very clearly. It seems to be out of focus and as it is recorded on your pics ( as I understand), it must be something in the optics. See if you can peer down the lens at the front of the camera to see it there is something trapped between the lenses. You may need a strong light to do this. Shake the camera (gently) to see if it moves.

I have one as well. I believe it is coming from the flash. See if it only happends with the flash. If so check to see if the flash has some burn areas

For D80, go to setup menu, select Mirror lock-up so we can see and access the sensor!
