I have a battery and charger, exact same, where the green light stays on saying the battery is charged, but the battery is not and it won't run the weed eater. Not sure if it is the charger or the battery. Can't get it to work either.

Open the unit up (six cross-head screws). Inside you'll find a 12V 5.0AH rechargeable battery, like the kind used in many home alarm systems.
You can get a replacement at most battery stores (they'll even pre-charge it for you). Somewhere around $20, I guess.

Someone gave me one and it was having the same problem. I solved it by using a piece of fine sandpaper to resore the surface around the outside of the prong that plugs into the tool. Now it charges!

The screws are unbelievably hard to unscrew -- when I try, the ones that work (2 of the 6) make a loud pop and then begin to come out. The other 4 are no go so far. I've tried a number of different Phillips head screwdrivers, both me and my husband (and both of us). Is this usual? Thanks

Grass Hog Battery #243215 (12 VDC SLA) and Charger #371415-11Is there somewhere I can get the breakdown as to the volts, wattage, etc. that I can use to see if I have one that will work?

BLACK AND DECKER CORDLESS POWER PACK FOR 12 VDC SLA BATTERY #243215 for a Grass Hog Cordless Trimmer

Sorry, but I haven't solved any problem. I'm still waiting on the experts to solve my problem from June 16 on my trimmer not operating even with new fully charged battery. As for your replacement, I would suggest retail stores that sell trimmers, such as Home Depot, Lowes, Ace hardware stores or maybe B&D website.

I'm charging a brand new Dewalt 20v battery on the dcb106 charger. When I put on the battery, the light flashes like normal but then dies out in about 3 seconds. Problem with charger? I'm planning to...

The dcb106 is a Li-ion battery charger, In this case, I think it is the problem of the battery. And, the battery code of the Dewalt 20v Max tools is DCB201, you can use it to search and find a new battery. You can also try to below store: Dewalt DCB201 Battery

Need 12v SLA trimmers battery \

Is it for a Grass Hog, Model CST 2000? If it is, I have the handle( 243215-00), battery ( 243213-00), wall mount ( 243476-00)and mount & charger( 243248-00).All are used but in very good condition.

It does not turn on even if it was charged for 24 hrs

When it charges, does the red light come on on the charger? Some of the CST2000 chargers make bad connections, and they don't actually charge.

Make sure the red light is coming on when you're charging the battery. If the light is coming on and you still can't use the trimmer after charging, you'll need either a new battery or a whole new battery pack (the black handle of the trimmer).

Hope that helps!

How long should trimmer run on a charge.

How large is your yard? On a small yard (like a townhouse front & back yard) the trimmer should last long enough to do the yard a couple of times before needing to be recharged, but it depends on the individual yard, how many weeds you have, and whether you keep it running a long time.

If the trimmer charges at all but not for a very long time, it's either the charger or the battery. Check the charger when it's charging to make sure the red light stays on -- if it goes off or blinks, you need a new charger. If the charger light stays on but the battery doesn't hold a charge, you need a new battery.

Hope that helps!

I purchased a new charger for my Dewalt Cordless drill and the red light just blinks. Is this normal

They usually have a little pic on there that tells you what the blinking means. I think it is charging, but sometimes it needs a green light too. Check it out. Mine flashes all kinds of signals, when it hits a dead battery, one that won't charge, it flashes something else. It only takes an hour to charge. Is the battery getting charged at all? Hope this helps.
