I have a Kodak EasyShare C530 that I use all the time. Lately the camera won't connect to the computer to transfer pix. I just get the image the camera is facing-no black screen before the connection is made. It will usually transfer them eventually, but only after many tries. Help!

EasyShare will not transfer the same pictures twice, so check to see if they are already in your EasyShare Collection. If you are unsure, take a new picture and connect again.
If EasyShare is running, there will be a little Kodak icon in your sys tray (lower right by default)...right click on it and choose transfer now, and you should see additional UI with options for transferring all or some, etc. to the Collection.
If your drivers are messed up for some reason, you could do a repair, or reinstall with the most recent version (6.4 at this point).
Let me know if these suggestions do not help.

Hi, Here are a couple things you can try to isolate the cause of this problem. Here goes: 1. See if the camera will connect and transfer properly on a different computer. If so, then the camera is fine. 2. Uninstall whatever software you are using to transfer pictures. If you have not installed any software, it is possible the OS is doing this for you. If you have WindowsXP or Vista, you do not need any software for basic transfer. If you are using the Kodak software that came with your camera, try uninstalling it and re-installing it. Hope these tips help.

C530 Kodak. Inserted new memory card 1.0gb and took several pics.. Tried to review but message appeared "no images to display on memory card". I can only access a limited number on internal memory???

Is the camera able to use a 1gb card? Use the Camera Setup Menu to Format the Memory Card. Use camera Setup menu to tell the camera to use the Memory card instead of the Internal memory.

I have been unable to view videos taken on my camera from the start , do I need a specific download or attachment ? Kodak EasyShare C530

No download is required to view videos on your camera.
It could be caused by a fault in the firmware however unfortunantly there is no update available online.

Please note:
There is no volume button since this camera has a microphone, but no speaker.
You can only hear the sound when you transfer the file to a TV or computer.

Cannot get picts frm cam

first - check physical connection:
when the camera is connected to the computer through usb, the camera should be turned on, nothing will appear on the screen and you will see a flashing light from the camera signifying that it's "making a connection"

if, the camera screen is active while connected to pc, that means it's not making connection so check other USB port, like the back -it's more reliable as it's directly connected to the motherboard, not a hub like that of the one in the front of the tower

when it's showing a flashing light, check if the computer shows an "image transfer window" - that will appear if you are using Kodak Easyshare Software, if you don't have it installed, check if WIA (Windows Imaging Acquisition) transfer options will automatically pop up

If not please check this
rightclick on My Computer> properties> Hardware> device manager

1. check if the cam is a subcategory of the Universal Serial Bus Controllers -

a. IF IT IS, highlight it, rightclick and select Update Driver, select bottom options until it asks you to choose between "Kodak Camera" and "Digital Still Camera", select "Digital Still Camera"
now it will update then check if it would appear under "Imaging Devices" (if you have XP) or "Portable Devices" (if you have Vista)
a transfer window should appear using WIA, then follow prompts
a.1 if it created it's own category under Device Manager, open my computer, select your camera and it will act like a removable disk, so you can copy and paste pics

b. IF IT IS NOT, please check if it's under a Kodak Category (open my computer, select your camera and it will act like a removable disk, so you can copy and paste pics) or Imaging Devices/Portable Devices, righclick on your cam model or kodak camera> update driver, select bottom options and at the part where it asks you to choose bet the kodak cam and digital still, please select the Kodak Cam, then an Eeasyshare Software Transfer Window should appear (that's if you have Easyshare Software)

you can dl it from www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw

Memory Card Requires Formatting

Hey B418,
Formatting will delete all your pictures on your camera or memory card. The camera might be prompting you to format because the the camera's memory is full. To avoid losing your pictures I would connect your camera to a computer, download your images to your computer first, and then format the memory.

Sincerely,
Allan
