I switched from Windows XP to Windows 7 & then the Lexmark Productivity Studio wouldn't work - create pdf wanted OCR sofware. I reinstalled the driver from the disk & now the Studio won't even open. Said it needed net 2.0 downloaded. Tried to download Net 2.0 only to find out Net 4.0 is already on my system. But the Studio keeps asking for 2.0. It will not open now even.

OCR Software for Lexmark

You should be able to assign Abby FineReader 11 Pro as the OCR software in the Lexmark software (Lexmark Productivity Studio for Windows or All-in-One Center for the Mac OS). You will need this software though and to have the monitor running to "listen" for the scan button to be pressed. You will also need to ensure your firewall doesn't block communication if you connect the X6650 through the network.

In the Productivity Studio (launch Lexmark Home), click on the Settings tab and then the Scan Destinations option. Add Abby FineReader 11 Pro to the list of destinations. Click on that option and click on the Modify button to make sure that the Application button is set and is pointing to the correct program and correct file type. Then you can go back to the all-in-one and press the Scan button. Select Scan to Computer and then choose Refresh to update the list of destination programs.

I hope this helps. The steps may be slightly different in the Mac software.

I can't get my Lexmark X2670 to scan and transfer the document to my computer other than as a .JPG file which is taking up too much space.

Try to access the Lexmark Productivity Studio. Just click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark 2600 Series > Lexmark Productivity Studio.

You can try scanning to PDF. If that option is grayed out, you'll need to install the OCR found in the installation CD of your printer.

OCR doesn't work with WINDOWS 7 and my Lexmark X5650es printer

Try this approach:1. Uninstall your existing printer driver. On your computer, go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark X5600 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. After the uninstall process, reboot your pc when prompted.2. When your pc turns on, check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. On your computer, go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > click on Properties. Take note of the System Type.3. Use the link below to download and re-install the corresponding printer driver for your operating system:- Lexmark X5650 Printer Driver for Windows 7 32-bit- Lexmark X5650 Printer Driver for Windows 7 64-bitSimply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.4. To re-install the Lexmark OCR scan software, insert the printer software installation CD in your pc CD-ROM drive.5. Click on Install > Install Additional Software > select the Lexmark OCR Scan Software > continue with normal installation steps.
Then try to create a PDF or Scan and Edit text (OCR) to verify that the problem is fixed.
If that doesn't help, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center at 1-800-539-6275 for additional assistance.

Productivity studio wants Msofts .NET Framework version 2 - The download says not good for 64bit PC - what is correct substitute? Running Win 7 on Dell Inspiron, reinstall following last PC death.

I suggest you install the Lexmark software using the driver from the Lexmark website. First, check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by going the Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. Then, download the driver using this link: http://bit.ly/dmlCyX (for 32-bit) or this link: http://bit.ly/9drb4y (for 64-bit). Execute the file and follow the instructions on the software. Thanks.

X4690 doesn't have Mac Productivity bundle???

The updated driver found in the Lexmark website should include the Productivity Studio application, however, the OCR scan software can be installed using the installation cd that came with the printer. Here's the link to the Lexmark website where you can download the Lexmark X4690 updated driver, http://bit.ly/aF110u. Download and install the software. Hope this helps. If you're going to encounter an issue or you'll need more assistance, just leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

How can i edit a scanned document on the lexmark 5650es?

Hi. You will need the OCR software installed in your computer. It is only available in the installation cd that came with your printer. The software is not available for download, even from the Lexmark website. If you have installed the scan software already, just open up the Lexmark Productivity Studio(for Windows) or All-in-One Center (for Macintosh)and choose Scan to Edit or Scan using OCR so that you can edit your scanned document. Hope this helps. Good luck!
