Hi,

To adjust the brightness of your screen just press and hold Fn button while pressing the right arrow key to increase the brightness and Fn + left arrow key to decrease.

Regards,
Pete

Screen brightness adjustment on acer aspire 3690

I believe that you need to press the Fn and Right Arrow keys (at the same time) to increase brightness and the Fn and Left Arrow keys to make it less bright.

Acer aspire 3690 has pink screen in lower half toward middle of screen

Your screen inverter is going bad, you will need to replace the screen inverter. You can parts on ebay, and you may need to take your computer apart to get it replaced.

The screen is too dark to read

See if there is a contrast adjustment somewhere on the laptop first, if not then its a possibility your back light has gone and needs replacing.

Acer Aspire 3690 remove the screen

There screws all around the lcd that are hidden by black rubber / plastic.

Examine the plastic and you'll see them. Pop them off with a straight blade screwdriver.

Then just unscrew all the screws. Most use only 4-6 screws.

Once they are all out. Carefully pull the plastic housing off with your hands. You shouldn't have to use much force so try to be gentle.

Afterwards you should be able to take it from there. There will be brackets holding the lcd in place.

Take those out and then remove the lcd cable from the back of the screen and the inverter from the bottom portion of the lcd.

Swap the lcds and put everything back together.

That should do the trick.

Let me know if you get stuck.

Screen

the problem could be that you accidentally pressed some button so the computer gets darker so it can save more energy...

that tends to happen when you press Fn + (a but with a screen a sun and a +)

i hope that helps..
otherwise.. your laptop could be having contact problems on the little thingies that hold the screen.
