Your eMachines T5048 PC Desktop uses RAM of specification DDR400 which is also called PC3200. DDR Stands for Double Data Rate.
Your computer is expandable to a maximum of 2GB
Give it a firm nudge with the heal of your hand. Make sure you have all the screws out first, of course. There are no levers involved are there? I had a e-machine once that had a little slide lock on the left hand side.
Anyway ... if none of that works ... you could get a putty knife and insert between the cover and the frame ... remember it is a computer not a can of paint. Dont bend anything.
As far as i know the only way is to run the restore disk from emachine that is for your model computer. (it usually wipes the computers hard disk in the process.)
the link below will take you to their support site for drivers.
on that site look for eMachines Recovery Media Purchase Program and you can see about ordering the recovery disk that you need.
Here's a link to the Emachine support page for your model. Scroll down to audio section and you should be able to download your sound drivers. If the sound still doesn't work after doing this download the chipset drivers and then try downloading the audio drivers again. Sometimes you need the chipset drivers first before the audio drivers will work.
