SOURCE: lens open/close problem

I have two of these cameras for at work. Both have this problem. If you hold the power key and repeatedly press the top key (one that shoots the picture) or hold the power key and then press and hold the shot key the camera is forced to take a picture. The camera seems to be ok then. There is no damage to the lens, as the pictures and quality are the same. It is definitly a design flaw, and/or software issue. Good Luck, and keep trying untill it fixes itself.

SOURCE: camera shuts off lens error

"lens error" will only be fixed by sending into repairs. 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2. Tell them you have a lens error and they will tell you where to send it.

Tamron lens makes a clicking noise

It is dealing with the films. when closing the lens in the fabric, the electrical film changed its position to an unwanted situation. This makes noise sometimes. It is not important for functinality of the lens. But it only gives you an unwanted noise. There is nothing to do because film dries as the times passes. It needs to be changed but is not cheap. So it is better to go on to use it.

I know this is not the answer you want, but when you dropped the camera you damaged the lens tube (housing) and your camera will require professional repair.

Kodak V1253 lense won't close

Use the vacuum cleaner to suckout the dust/sand particles stuck between the lens casing and the body.

My daughter dropped her sister's Nikon Coolpix S560 in the sanddunes today with the lens open. It still took pictures after that but the lens wouldn't close. Now it opens and closes and makes a grating...

It seems that some sand particles are lodged between the lens casing and the camera's body. and when it finds that there is resistence in moving the lens, it shuts down. Use somethig that sucks, like the vacuum cleaner to **** the sand particles out. Do not blow, else the sand will go further in.

Olympus FE-210

Hey dramaqueen79,
It sounds like you have internal damage to the camera. I would have it looked at be an authorized service center. If you are fine with the performance of the camera and all you want to do is be able to upload your images you could purchase a card reader(for an xd memory card) that connects to a usb port, and upload your images directly to your computer with the card reader.

Sincerely,
Allan
