I have a brand new LG Shine KE970 and the other day I took out the battery and when I put it back in and rebooted the phone the keypads completely stopped working. The only thing that works is when I slide the phone open and close the background lights turns on and off.
Besides that none of the number buttons, menu, contacts buttons nothing works.
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Possible any of your keys are sticked. may be on keypad or in side keys. Check those first.
Disassemble the phone. Clean the PCB. May this can help you.
You need appropriate screw driver for unscrew. You can buy on market. PCB means Printed Circuit Board. That is the main board where all parts are located.
Bette go to a repair shop. They can do that for you.

not one single key works, on the keypad, on the side of the phone where the MP3 and camera buttons are, those don't work, none of the functions on the phone work.
How would I disassemble the phone and clean the PCB ( I don't know what the PCB is...)
Highly doubt I am capable of doing that hehe, I'd end up breaking it even more!

How positive are you that's the problem?
I'll go to a repair shop asap.
If it helps to your understanding, like I said none of the keys work but the scroll wheel in the center works by opening the messages and voicemail and setting ring tone preferences but still I can't select the menu or item I want from there.

same problem, the keypad and side buttons just stopped working... only button that works is the END (power) key and it doesnt even do its job properly
i turned my shine off to charge it...and when i woke up the buttons quit working. nothing works i cant even turn it off. i've only had it about five months so its fairly new.
I just got the LG Shine, and it the keypad doesn't work at all. When I first got it, all the keys were working fine, I even took a picture of my sister with it...I shut my phone off so it could activate itself (I JUST got it) and when I turned it back on, nothing works. The only thing that works is the off/end call button. The number keys will work if I'm holding down the end call button, but other than that, nothing works :( It sucks. Please help
