Jvm1870sk04 GE profile microwave will not shut off unless the door is open. Unplugged , pushed off/cancel continues to run with door closed. Any solutions?

Check for continuity across temperature cut out switches. Sometimes the connector (shovel plug) is defective. Next is the printed circuit board: (1) Look for bad solder joints and (2) check the MGT relay. It is on the PCB and has 2 shovel plugs on the top.

It is a cooling fan used for cooling of magnatron as the temperature of magnatron rises when microwave mode is used, cooling saves this component from any defect.
I have a workaround for you, that works for other brands. I am not sure if it will work in your case though. Pls try it: - It seems that the door closing sensor is not working well, so it might think that the door opened. - Once you have this problem, open the door and then close it again.
The problem is in one of the door switches, "it is defective" this is a highly dangerous situation and should be checked immediately, the microwave oven should unplugged until a appliance repairman looks at it.

Just checked the GE website. Had the same problem with my 5 year old microwave. GE website says to close and open the door quickly three times. First time I did this it didn't work. Second time I closed the door with some significant force and reopened it more quickly. Worked. Unplugged the microwave, plugged it back in, still fine.
Spacemakers have had problems with there magnatron, part is around 170.00. Depending on the year it is covered under a warranty however the labor is not. I have replaced 3 spacesavers for people already due to this issue. Unit runs but will not heat.
