Sprint HTC Touch Screen

locking your phone will help stop accidental dialling. if you don't lock your phone all you have to do is touch the screen and your ready to press buttons if you lock it then you have to unlock before you can press them, so in turn to acccidently call somebody it would have to unlock itself in your pocket.

The touch-screen of my china phone is not working. The four keys on the bottom are working. I can receive calls thru on key but can not dial a number except the last dialed or received.

This is a setting designed by HTC to stop inadvertently pressing keys with your face when you are on the phone, but yes it is very frustrating at times. I've found that the easiest way to get around this is:

When you make a call, as soon as you've pressed 'dial' press the 'kepad' option in the lower left of the screen, this will stop the screen going blank.

I've not had any luck changing the setting within the phone so this is just what I do to resolve it. To be honest, the only time I really need the screen to be on is when I'm using the keypad to type in numbers for automated services anyway lol.

You need to walk in to a sprint repair center and have them change the ribbon from the sliding LCD screen. If u have the extended warranty there should be no cost. If you don't you have to pay get it repair it should not be more then $55.00 to get it repair. Or you can send it to HTC and have them repair it for you but it takes 3 weeks to get your phone back.

You will need to take the phone to a mobile service center and have them check your lcd and flexcable

Try soft reseting your phone. If that doesnt work then try hard reseting.  To soft reset take the stylus pen and push in the little hole on the bottom of the phone. You should feel a little click and then your phone will restart. Wait until your phone  starts up again and if it still isnt working then do a hard reset. 
 To hard reset, hold down the green send button and the red end call button at the same time and continue to hold them down as you then push your stylus pen into the hole on the bottom of the phone untill you feel the little click. Your phone should start to reset.  Be warned you will loose any information saved to the phones memory ie: phone numbers, pictures, personal settings. Anything saved to your memory card should be ok.
If your screen remains blank after trying both resets I would suggest taking it back to where you got it and and have them fix it or replace it.

There is something you can try. Using a Torx 6 driver, remove the two screws located beneath the battery. Gently pry the plastic cover loose. There will be a flex cable connecting it to the other portion of the phone. Gently disconnect it. Using 99.5% isopropyl alcohol and a soft bristled brush clean the connectors on both the cable and the circuit board. Reseat the connector and reassemble the phone. If this does not work the flex cable or LCD may need to be replaced.

your problem is the LCD..have it changed already...it works mostly
