Canon DR-9080C Path-Through Scanner Logo
Posted on Apr 04, 2017

I have a canon DR 9080C, we recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat 9 professional, since then we have had scanning problems. The device has been uninstalled / installed 5 times in the last 24 hours. The device seemed to work perfectly - but now another problem. Suddenly I am only getting an image from the middle of the scanned document. For example an 8.5 by 11" page when done scanning immediately defaults to 364% image size and cuts off approximately 3" from the left side of the original document and approximately 2" from the right side. Is this a software or a hardware issue? Is there a way to test the lamp to verify it's functional? Many thanks, John

Issue resolved. The root software was the canon capture perfect 2.0, perhaps when Adobe 9 pro was installed it changed the root preferences in the capture perfect software. By getting into the capture perfect scanner properties - "more" setting, the culprit was apparent as the default image size had changed. This was not overideable in the Adobe software. Odd but now works great.

SOURCE: Acrobat and Canon DR-9080C not working

You are right, it is driver related issue. Acobat 9 has more features that may not be compatible with the existing driver. may be you can use CapturePerfect and directly create PDF and then use the Optimising features of Acrobat 9. Ofcourse you have to do it twice, but you can use the 'batch' process and do it automatically.

SOURCE: Canon DR-9080c scanner not lifting error no page found in feeder

There is a paper sensor just under the rolers in the lifting tray. Clean the area thoroughly with a damp cloth. Keep some sheets and try ]count only'. If it works then the sensor is okay, then you can try your scanning. If it is not sensing paper, check the sensor or connections to the sensor.

Sounds like you need a new CIS unit, the scan assembly or its lamps are flickering.

Scanner Canon DR-9080C recently started scanning at a slower speed. All setting look to be the same compared to another unit. Any thoughts?

Do you have enough disk space? Try disk Defrag and create more space. Also check the Format you are saving, is it TIFF compressed or uncompressed? The uncompressed file size is really huge.

Ensure you have loaded right drivers for Win 7 or download from http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010035.asp
Win 7 cannot create problems like freezing. It is lot more stable than XP. (I havent tried CapturePerfect with Win 7, but I feel it should work).

CapturePerfect ver 3 is on chargeable basis! You can download ver 2.0 from http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0022439.asp?model= Though this is listed under Canon DR 5020, it works fine with DR 9080C. DR 9080C has very intelligent features and ver 2 works fine. I do not know if there are addl features with ver 3.0. I have used for scanning over 500,000 docs.

External Control and Scan counts of DR-9080C

THe scan count is available in the control panel (under scanners...) and if the user is a non-administrator, he/she cannot reset it.
Canon 9080C permits installation of a mechanical counter inside the scanner. This can help you track the scanned quantity.
The way your question is detailed, I am sure you must be aware of these facts!

Need CapturePerfect 3 driver for Canon Scanner DR 9080C

I have the same model Canon DR-9080C scanner which I recently acquired and I'm trying to figure out how used it is. I see many referrign to a counter. I see the big LCD on top front, but how do you know how many total pages have been scanned through it? I read somewhere there is a mechanical scanner. Is this true?

Canon Dr-9080C scanner

to check the page count install the driver and setup the scanner as a "scanner device" on your computer. Once you have done that , go to the "control panel" than "scanners and printers". Right-click on the device that says "Cannon DR-9080C" and select "properties". The device information will appear, than select the "counter" tab on the information box; the scan count will be listed.
