Wireless problem i had to reinstall the operating system on my presario x1000 laptop. i tried to connect it to my wireless router and it does not show any wireless pls help

Go to device manager and go to network connections. uninstall the wireless device, keep the drivers and then reboot. When the computer reboots it will detect the hardware which is your wireless adapter and install it along with the appropriate driver. If it asks to search windows update, allow it. reboot and see if you can get on the internet. If you can't send me a message through this site and we will try something else.

unplug the power to the wireless router and leave it off for one minute, then plug it back in and see if you can then connect . If not run an ethernet lead from the router to the computer to check that you can connect to the internet if you cant connect to the net then check that you have no firewallsstopping you, try switching them off. See if you can connect then.

Are you connected to a network and is the light on laptop lit for wifi?

that might take an uninstall and reinstall of either the ethernet drivers, or the operating system. I haven't heard that, but I have had machines that aren't as reliable in the wireless as they could be. it's possible that something in the workings of it has gone haywire, but it sounds like an OS issue.

Back up everything you want to keep and reinstall the OS if possible.

if u turn on the wireless button and there is a wireless connection somwhere in range then you will be able to connect to it with out the button on then you will need to connect a wirteless device such as a wireless usb device that is what i am running on right now as i type
