SOURCE: Is the subwoofer from the Bose acoustimass 10

The entire speaker system is passive. That is, it requires amplification for each channel.

From the manual: "Compatible with A/V receivers rated from 10 to 200 watts per front channel and 10 to 100 watts per rear channel; rated from 4 to 8 ohms".

HOW CAN I CONECT THE BOSE TO MY YAMAHA AMP THE ONLY WAY TO CONECT THE BOSE IS TO BANANA INPUTS ON MY AMP AND THEY ARE FRONT SPEAKERS BUT THE AMP HAS A SUB OUTPUT

To enable the full potential of a SUB for Yamaha DSP A5 ,

you need to have

a separate amplifier for your Bose Acoustimass System.

The SUB out should be connected to an active subwoofer.

After five months without any problems, the Subwoofer stopped working and just makes popping noises. Do I need a new one or is there something I can do to fix it?

Sounds like what happened to my Velodyne DLS5000R. The power supply on the amplifier got zapped by a power surge, and fried a transformer or capacitor.

I would bet a Bose amp, like the one in my Velo, is not user serviceable. Velo requires a flat $230 swapout fee where they send me a new one. They don't even fix the one I send 'em; just send a new one. Too bad, cuz if I could open the "cage" that all the guts are in, I could replace a $3 part myself, but they have this thing glued together where it can't be opened.

Which model of amplifier will match the Bose AM 10 series4

There's a pretty decent write up for this speaker system on CNet. The "Speaker System" section calls for an amplifier capable of 10 - 150 watts RMS.

Bose maintains a library on their products as well. You can download FAQs, Manuals and Product Information easily. On the accessories tab, Bose lists an Onkyo receiver for $350 that will work very well with this speaker system. Of course, any quality modern stereo receiver or amplifier with power in this range 10 - 150 watts should provide good results, but better amps will be in the 75 watts and greater range.

I hope this helps - good luck

Can I connect my Bose Acoustimass 5 - Series II to Bravia unit?

Yes, there should be no issues using your Bose speakers with your Sony receiver. Sony has a "hookup guide" to help here -
