Unplug it and let it dry out. Place it on old newspaper and start. Check the paper and look for the wet spot. That will let you know where the water is coming out of the unit. Check that area, it is probably a bad seal on the drain or a crack in the water container.
Hi, If you do not know where the leak and/or it is a slow leak try Fix-A-Leak it works well for cracks up to 1/8". If there is a large puddle or your losing a substantial amount of water, you most likely have a large crack in the a pvc fitting somewhere. Where? That is the hard part, you may have to remove panelling to find out but typically water manifolds & jet bodies crack first. Hope that helps.
I found this solution on elsewhere on fixya. it relates to a little float switch designed to detect water leaks I think.
1. turn off power and water
2. tilt back machine about 45% (have towels ready to soak up any spill off
3. when all the water has emptied, right machine and retry. if the problem keeps reoccurring, you may have a genuine water leak. I had to try a few times but this worked for me and saved me at least 4 days of hand washing over a long weekend. good luck
it is possible that the tray itself has a crack in it. The icicles tend to make me beleive that you have a cracked tray because ice accumulates in the form of a cicle by consistantly dripping, running downward and over time the freezing occures . You might take food coloring and mix with water. Pour this mixture into yhe icemaker tray with the unit off and let it sit. If the tray is leaking the food coloring will let you know, if no leaks then it has too much water being allowed into the unit or too much water pressure. Good Luck
Buy a new pan. Once they are broken they cannot be sealed due to the fact that they will not level out and will have problems with water going in other directions then to the train pipes
Run the dishwasher through with a cup of bleach in the upper rack, then run the dishwasher through with a cup of vinegar in the upper rack. This helps clean out the lines.
Do the people who bought the DW have a garburator, if so the garborator has a plug in it that has to be removed so the DW will finish it's cycle and drain properly. Sorry can't be more specific, check the garburator manual. My husband just fixed the same problem for some friends we were visiting in Grand Cayman, our host installed a garburator but didn't read instructions for installing with a DW.
