Try doing basic troubleshooting, turn camera offf, remove the battery. Reinstall battery after a minute or two and try turning it on. Make sure battery is fully charged.

You see the 'lighting' symbol at the top of the round 4-way switch on
the back of the camera - while in the record mode, pressing the 'up'
switch will cycle thru the various flash settings: Auto, Fill-in,
