Ambiance eco green inverter split type room Ac not cooling. Tec told me it has a closed system and shouldn’t need Freon. Any suggestions? Does it need refrigerant?

Refrigerant and Freon are the same thing. Does the unit display any error messages? Does the fan work? Can you hear the outside compressor come on?

Bought a new whirlpool refrigerator for the garage and was told by the salesman at Lowe's that it will still operate. Now I hear if the weather gets below 30 degree it will not operate. Is that true...

One thing that would concern me is the temperature that the compressor will go down to.

With a cold, or very cold, compressor the oil inside it will be sluggish possibly causing motor start up problems. There is also the fact that the refrigerant will have migrated to the coldest spot, namely the compressor, and this refrigerant will wash away any lubricant on start up.

The first thing I would suggest is that you fit a crankcase heater to the bottom half of the compressor and provide a permanent power supply to it.

Loud clanging when it stops running model # ED25DQ

When the motor inside the compressor stops, the internal springs absorb the momentum. If an internal spring breaks or (more likely) gets weak, it may allow the motor to bang against the outer case of the compressor. The refrigerator will most likely work many more years this way, but the only way to stop that noise would be to replace the compressor, which is cost prohibitive. If you can't live with the noise, buy a new energy efficeint refrigerator and recycle the old one or use it in the basement or give it away. PS. If you give nearly any refrigerator compressor, even a new unused one, a shake, you will hear it knock against it's outer case.

Freezer compressor runs loud and rough

Not if the repair was done correctly. The oil was probablly lost with the refrigerant and it sounds like it (the oil) wasn't replaced.

WE MOVED THE UNIT TO THE DINING ROOM TO HAVE NEW TILE INSTALLED. NOW THE ICE MAKER ISN'T WORKING AND NOT MAKING ICE. WE HEAR A LOUD SHHHHHH NOICE EVERY FEW MINUTES COMMING FROM THE BACK. WHAT CAN WE DO TO...

Is it hooked up to a water supply? If not, you are heaqring the water valve call for water and no water is available. If you are using plastic line, it could be kinked. You should change it to copper anyway as plastic very often fails and floods.
