Code f9 on frigidaire self cleaning oven. what does it mean. i went to clean the oven and the door locked and the code f9 came up and keeps beeping. i unplugged the stove for 1/2 hour and plugged it in and it continues to beep showing the f9 code. oven door is still locked.

replace parts as necessary

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

this is a free download site from frigedaire if you have your model number you can download your complete manuel i was unable to find the F9 code for an oven
but suspect it has to do with door lock switchs if you can download your manuel from site it may help you can try shutting off breaker for oven and see if it will reset

How long does it take for the door lock to go off once the cleaning light goes off?

Either your lock motor switches are defective and out of sequence or your electronic control(clock) is bad.

I had the same problem. All I had to do was clean around the door lock. A small bit of burnt food or something had gotten into the hole around the lock and prevented it from moving all the way into position. Took a tooth pick and 30 seconds of probing to clean it out. Works fine now.
