You will need to reconfigure the router.
Once you reset the router, it will come back to the factory default settings. Now you can reinstall the router.
You can do it manually without the CD also.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

My belkin router n3000 stopped working out of the blue , internet connection shows up but no internet

Try recycling the router by unplugging it then after 20 seconds plug it back in. See if you can stay connected. If not, unplug the modem and the router, then plug the modem in and let it cycle up for about a minute or two, then plug the router in and let it cycle up.

If you turn your computer and router off at night, then when you turn them back on, if the router boots up before the modem, it will have connection problems. A power outage in the house causes the same thing if the router cycles up before the modem.

I unplugged the cable connected to my desktop and the wireless function stopped working

You must always have a 'host' adaptor whether you want a LAN or a WAN. Go to your configuration utility or control panel via your Run command to set or view your options. Steve Medley

Belkin router not working

Are there no leds when you power up the router? If there are no leds make sure the 110 volt circuit the router is plugged into is not tripped. If you have leds try holding in the reset button on the back of the router with a paperclip the botton is a small hole located by the internet/wlan port, hold for 10-15 seconds this resets the router to factory defaults. Belkin F6d3230-4 No internet

Since this has happened to you in the past, my first suggestion would be to purchase another router.. I would recommend moving to a Linksys Brand (made by Cisco), since I believe it is a much better grade consumer router...

But, you might try resetting it back to its original configuration by pressing the 'reset' button for more than 30 seconds, then plugging it back into the LAN..

Another thing you could try is to install updated Firmware for the router... Firmware is usually available from the manufacture's site...

That being said, I will say that I have had issues with Belkin's in the past, and no longer suggest them to my customers.
