The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. First Check to see if the valve is getting water. Make sure it's not clogged. There is a screen on the inside of the valve, this sometimes gets clogged up with debris. Check to see if you get power to valve when unit is put into operation may take a couple minutes to start a fill. If you have power and it's not clogged up replace the valve .If you have no power to the water inlet valve check float switch. This can be done by checking the continuity. There is a video of this at http://appliancehelponline.com/dishfloatwaterinletvideo.html this will walk you checking the water inlet valve and the float switch. It may be a different model but the testing procedure will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for most models. All parts come with installation instructions.

Hello, a friend of mine had forgotten to put on the dishwasher one week ago and he thought the best way to solve the stinky problem would be to put dishwasching liquid in it. I know it was not really...

Don';t think I am familiar with your brand dishwasher, but,....
To get rid of the suds from using dish soap instead of dishwasher detergent, take two or three capsules of Pyhzeme (stomach gas capulets) and cut them open, squeezing the few drops into the dishwasher's water, then restart the dishwasher. That should knock down the suds.

Recently bot a home with a GE Profile dishwasher -- only about 4 years old -- it does not get anything clean -- before replacing it I was told that it might just need some "line" cleaning -- anyone know...

Hello,

Welcome To FixYa.

Before getting into this too far I have a couple of question`s which will enlighten me in which direction to steer you.

First, the home you purchased...do you know if it was un-occupied for an extended period, thus the dishwasher not running for a while ?

Second, after the unit initially starts and is full of water, do you hear the wash motor spraying water at all.

I`ll watch for your response and try to reply asap.

Thank`s,

macmarkus :)

Loud noise starts as soon as water starts coming into dishwasher. Stops when water in or water draining. What could it be?

Hi,

This hammering is usually from restrictions in the water line or inside the valve on the machine itself.

Try taking the water line off of the machine(with the water supply turned off) then disconnect the line from the dishwasher and flush water into a bucket from this line until it runs clean. Reconnect, if it still makes the noise you will need to replace the inlet valve on the dishwasher. Let me know if this was helpful or if you have questions please.

Thank you

All filters are clean, but water will not come in

Hi, Check the float in the front corner and make sure it moves up and down freely. Also, you can check voltage at the inlet valve. It should get 120V at the start of the wash cycle. If there is voltage, the inlet valve will need replaced. If there is no voltage, the float switch needs tested. It is usually the inlet valve or the float.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Asko dishwasher won't start, just hums and gets hot

Get this every few months - don't know the problem but we disconnect from unit and tilt the dishwasher and loads of stinky water spills out - from where I don't know. Then just **** all the water out of the drain bit with a chicken baster - primative but has worked every time so far. Keep trying to get water out until doesn't hum when switched on.

After pumping water stops

If there is power getting to the motor then the motor is bad, if no power is getting to the motor then the timer is bad. If you can change the setting so it pumps the water out then you know the motor is OK and the timer will need to be replaced.

Dishwasher

A few things to check:
- is the timer running? The first thing the timer does is open the water valve solenoid. You should hear a click immediately before the water flows through the pipe. If you don't hear this click, then either the dishwasher has no power (check your circuit breaker), the timer is faulty, or the solenoid is faulty.
- is the water turned on? Obvious question, but I have to ask.
- is the hose kinked somewhere?

You didn't mention if the rest of the functions work after the fill function. If so, it must be either the solenoid or a water delivery problem. If not, perhaps the dishwasher has no power, or else it is probably the timer.
